The last week of high school, ever.
Senior project presentations, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.
Senior breakfast Thursday.
Field Day, Honors Assembly Friday.
Also Andy's graduation.
My graduation on the 17th.
This seems like it's supposed to be a week of relaxation, anticipation, even joy.
Why is it almost completely the opposite?
I feel trapped and emotional and sometimes I can't breathe.
(This could be because I haven't finished my presentation, grad speech, or parent speech yet, nor do I have $25 in cash for the senior gift to the school.)
I'm not ready for it to be over. I WANT it to be over, but I want the option of turning back the clock at times. I think I could be entirely happy about it if not for the connotations.
I dread my senior trip, even though it should be three days of fun up at Whistler. Maybe I'll even be able to sneak away to eat dinner at my favorite French restaurant..we'll see.
But as soon as I come back, I have to go to work, indoors, all summer.
And, oh God, I can't handle the impending separation. I know I'll fly to pieces.
It's definitely time to listen to Tom Petty.
Just what the truth is, I can't say anymore--because I love you..
In other news: cake.
I sort of want to stick my head in the oven along with it. Or set myself on fire.
Seattle International Film Festival
-Conversations with Other Women: quite excellent. Featured Helena Bonham Carter and witty, believable dialogue.
-Adam's Apples: weeeeird Danishy bit featuring a Neo-Nazi, a mildly deranged priest, and a cursed apple tree.
-Bickford Shmeckler's Cool Ideas: oh GOSH. SO GOOD. Braingasms galore.
-The Puffy Chair: failed utterly.
-Roots: pretty odd Russian comedy. I liked it.
-L'Iceberg: despite not being full of dialogue (when I watch French films, I like to hear them talk), it was fairly endearing and enjoyable enough.

Are you going to the Scarborough fair?
Parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme...
Remember me to the one who lives there
For she once was a true [friend] of mine...

It is the best of times.

I know how that is. It seems like everyone has gotten more and more stressed out and these last two weeks went on. Except Katie, she just got more jolly, like santa or something.
